Premises Claims

Depending on your reasons for being on another's property,  Florida law requires landowners to keep their premises in a safe condition and to warn of any known hazards.

Trip & Falls

When an injury is caused by a defective condition on the property, such as a fall due to insufficient lighting or a substance left on a floor,  it is your obligation to establish why the accident happened.

I advise you to take photos, document the condition and report the fall to the business. Be sure to note the time and date, who was told of the incident, any comments about the condition made by employees as to their knowledge of the condition and the names and contact information for any witnesses.

I have successfully tried trip and fall cases to recover a jury verdict of more than $3.6 million dollars.

Criminal Attacks

Injuries caused by criminal conduct are different. Criminals are opportunists and typically target poorly protected properties.  Owners of hotels, apartments and other venues who know when their businesses are located in a high-crime area and must warn you about those risks and to take more aggressive security measures to keep you safe.

After Kmart's cleaning crew rolled-up its floor mat and placed it on the floor just inside the electric doorway before closing time, my client tripped and fell to the ground. Kmart painted my client to be a liar and faker. A Florida jury found otherwise, awarding her more than $3.5 million dollars at trial.

If you are injured while at a business, or staying in a hotel or apartment complex, call immediately so that valuable evidence is not lost.
